DOWNLOADS:

Here you can download templates for mounting the Hannes Bridge.
You have a choice of two different formats, dxf or pdf. The bottom rout template.pdf can be used with both 25.5" and 24.75" scale lengths to locate the string-stop plate rout. This rout is .25" deep.
You can print any of these formats on transparent film to use as a template, but make sure that you PRINT 100% ACTUAL SIZE or PRINT TO SCALE (1to1).

SPECIFICATIONS:

The string to string distance is 2.125".

The minimum height of the bridge at the saddle is .40" and the maximum height is .56". The string closest to the body is usually the high E string. I like to set up my guitars so that the high E string is .43" from the body when the action is as low as can be (this means that the high E string is .05" from the last fret).

The saddles can be adjusted for their heights with the strings on. For this you will need a 5/64" (2mm) ball end hex key. You will need to push the low E and A strings a little out of the way. However, I customize my own ball end hex keys so that I never have to push the strings. I just file the end of the key above the ball end and give it a smaller, circular shaft. It works perfectly for very small height adjustments but it is not recommended for significant adjustments because you run the risk of ruining your strings and chewing up your saddles. Therefore, please note that you should almost always loosen your strings before you do any height adjustments or even intonation adjustments.

The bridge can only be grounded at the bottom string stop plate. Therefore you need to drill a small hole from the guts cavity to the inside of the stop plate rout. For the grounding you can just use a wire or a combination of a wire and copper foil.

Important notice about the frontal height adjusting screws: there are two different height sizes of these screws. In a bridge assembly, two shorter screws and four taller screws are used. Make sure that the shorter screws are used for the high B and E strings, and that, therefore, the four taller screws are used for the other four string

The saddles can be made shorter so that they provide you with a longer intonation adjustment. As often happens with many bridges, the intonation adjustment cannot always provide an adequate positioning of the saddle. This is especially the case with bass strings where selected gauges and/or drop tunings require longer adjustments. Any saddle on the Hannes Bridge can be easily shortened at the front by at least 2mm by sanding down the inclined flat surface which is just above the front of the saddle.

Schaller shows how the saddles rotate. Each saddle can be simply removed by rotating it to a perpendicular position. You start by pushing down the tail end of the saddle with a pencil eraser, for example. This will lift the front of the saddle which you can then grab with your fingers.
